On Calling Us:
What? A Hamilton Number? We are using a Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone line from Vonage. You dial our Hamilton number and our phone rings here in The Hague. Vonage connects us over the Internet. It costs you the same as any call to Hamilton, i.e. not much, so use it lots!
International Calling If you’re like I was before I moved here, you have no idea how to call these crazy Euro-numbers. Here’s the deal. The ‘+’ represents whatever you have to dial to get an international line from your current location. In Canada/US, it’s typically 011; in many European countries it’s 00. Then, 31 is the country code for The Netherlands. The ‘(0)’ means that you must dial a 0 if you’re in the country where the number is from, but you don’t dial it when calling from another country. So for example, dial the following to get my mobile from various locations: Canada: 011 316 2359 1931 The Netherlands: 06 2359 1931 Rest of Europe: 00 316 2359 1931
